Hope to the Hungry

God placed on my heart to do a mission project as a family. And Hope to the Hungry was enlightened to me thru the radio station K-LOVE. Hope to the Hungry is a cooperative effort between K-LOVE, Rescue Missions, and other Homeless Ministries to help feed and care for the hungry and hurting. In the midst of hunger and despair, we can bring hope. The average cost of one meal at the outreaches is $1.96. You can't eat anywhere for that amount of money.

So I approached my family about this project and, as I knew they would, they pitched in. As a whole we are not rich with money, but we are rich with love. And this project is a way that we can share both to those who are needing both. We collected $101. It may not be a whole lot but the heart of it all is huge. God can multiply and grow even the smallest of gift. My cousins 7 year old little boy, donated some of his birthday money to this project. He is a blessed young man with a giving heart. God will bless us for what we give.

Feed the hungry and help those in trouble,
then your light will shine out from the darkness,
and the darkness around you will be as bright as day.

Fall Family Pictures

As usual, my mom is a great photographer. We took fall family pictures for our Christmas cards. Here are a few for you to preview. All of these were taken at my parents house in Chillicothe. I was kidding Wes about how country he has become....no longer a city boy.....becasue there are hay bales and tractors in the back ground of our pictures. I love it.

Fear of Death

Wow. Death in the eyes of a 2 year old must be pretty scary. The last few days have been pretty miserable for me. After taking the Mirena (IUD) out, my body is paying me back for the 2.5 years of no "monthly visitors". And early I said, mostly to myself but out loud, that "I'm gonna die". Zoey heard me and got this really sad look in her eyes and said "Mommy I don't want you to die." She was nearly in tears. I felt horrible. So I tried to reassure her with as much truth as possible. I told her I wasn't really dying and didn't want to yet. And I told her that one day Jesus would call me to come live at home with Him, and then one day He would call her to come live with us too. She told me "NO, I love you and don't want you to leave" and wrapped her arms around me and held on tight. "I miss you mama" I told her with as much conviction as I've ever had "I'm not gonna leave you baby. Mama loves you so much."

One of my biggest fears is slapping me in the face. Leaving my children before they are big enuff to have a strong hold on the TRUTH. I will have to let them go eventually, but I want to instill in them a passionate love of Jesus and the security that goes with it......so that if something does happen and Jesus wants me home earlier than I planned, they will be ok. As a believer in God's Truth, I have a secure place with Him beyond this world.....but as a mom, I don't want to go without my children. I pray I never have to face that reality.

Dear Lord God, Please keep Your strong hands over the lives of my children. Grab hold of them so that they never have to know what it is to be without You. And please help me to teach them of Your unfailing love so that when You do call me home, they will have You to depend on. I love You and I want them to love You too. I trust You to take care of the babies that You gave me to take care of. Please don't let me fail You or them. Amen

I am trusting Him

Well today is the day. Less than six hours left and I will be back on the baby market again. I'm so excited and a bit nervous. But I am not afraid. God has helped me calm my fears of losing another baby. I am so thankful for the calm I feel about getting pregnant again. Satan tries to remind me quite often of the pain I went thru with losing Noah, and the stress and anxiety I went thru with Zoey. I have to remind myself that I serve a Savior who can provide escapes when the enemy is behind me and there is a sea of pain and death in front of me, like He did with the Israelites when they were fleeing from Egypt with Pharaoh right behind them. He always, always provides a path of dry ground thru the treacherous sea in front of me......if I will just trust Him to do it. It will be no different with this pregnancy. God will have His hand on me and the baby I will be carrying. I want Him to receive all of the glory for His provision. So I will try and keep you updated as God provides for me and the lives of those around me (and in me). Keep me in your prayers.....the more God hears on our behalf the more He will bless us. I am trusting God.....will you join me?
