I can't believe it. Ross and I took the girls to Dairy Queen to eat lunch today and something happened that started out as a little thing and ended up being a really big thing. WE ordered lunch, and went and sat down at a table as usual. I got Emari a booster seat and Zoey a high chair, the wood ones without the table on them. And while we were waiting on our food the girls got restless and started fidgeting around....which isn't uncommon for my girls. Any way, I didn't quite get Zoey in her seat right because she was slipping thru the bottom trying to get out. Both feet were on the floor and her head and shoulders were still in the seat. This has happened a few times before and I always just pull her back up in the chair to sit down straight....... Well not this time. I couldn't get her back up and her head was too big to fit between the seat and the bar that went across the lap. JEEZZZ! She was really stuck. And both me and Ross were trying to get her out while she was panicking more and more and crying. Then the people around us began to get worried too. A few helpful men came over and began to help. One man, went out to his truck to find some tools to take out the screws so we could get her out. And after several attempts and several different tools, she was finally free from the chair.
What an experience that was. And of coarse as a mom, I felt guilty because I should have put her in the seat right to begin with. And Zoey was traumatized. She just sat in my lap for several minutes, very quiet. And if you know Zoey she is not ever still or quiet. But after I made her feel better by loving on her she returned to her usually bubbly self. But ask her if she wants to get stuck in the chair again and she will tell you NEVER!
