the latest news

Well, we found out today that Wes is definitely gonna miss Christmas this year. He will be flying out either the 20th or 21st. He is wanting to go see his family before he goes. So we are looking at flying to North Carolina at the end of November for a week or so. Then my mom is working on making plans to take a family cruise the first week of December. At least when I turn the dreaded 30 on the 3rd of December, I'll be too busy to dwell on how old I'm getting. YUK! Anyway, I'm trying so hard not to dwell on the negative stuff. I'm getting more and more anxious about my test coming up in another week and half. I don't want to have to worry about my health while Wes is gone, or have him worry about it while he is gone............so much to handle right now........pray for us.

Blessed

I have been enjoying the weather so much lately. I love this time of year.....it smells different, it feels different, and it brings the anticipation of the holiday season. With everything seeming to be going crazy lately, I have been reminded of the blessings that I have, and have been humbled to be thankful for what I do have. To be able to walk outside, take a deep breath and just relax......to spend time playing, and I mean really playing with my girls......to be held by my husband as we lay in bed and reflect on the day......and to have a family that loves me unconditionally and with out doubt that that love will ever stop. I have a God who is on my side, who loves me enuff to sacrifice His son for me, who loves despite my selfish, take-care-of-it-myself nature, and despite all of the things I've done to shame myself in public and in secret. He knows me and loves me anyway. I am overly blessed. Thank you Lord. Thank you for every little thing and gigantic blessings You give me beyond what I deserve........You are sooooooo amazzinglllllyyy awesome.

When it rains....it pours!

I have several things to write about in this blog....just thought I'd warn you so I don't seem quite so scatter-brained...........

Well, the family is feeling better, even though we are still coughing and catching our running noses. This cold didn't seem to effect the girls much. Zoey likes taking medicine. Emari will only take it if She wants to and refuses with a gigantic fight if she doesn't. But that's my angels for ya.......

I had my annual "woman" exam a couple of weeks ago and the doctor told me that they would mail me my results if they were normal and if they weren't they would call me. I wasn't too worried because all of my exams have been normal and was expecting this one to be too. So when she called me this last week and told me that my pap was abnormal this time and wanted to schedule me for a colposcopy......which is a really big word for a in-depth exam with a scope into your "who-who"........I was a bit taken back. She asked if I had any questions, and of coarse at the time I was to stunned to think of any questions right then. So with the world wide web and all the information it holds only at my fingertips, I preceded to look up and find all the info I could on abnormal paps and low grade abnormal cells. And from what I can reason out of it, is that it could be anything from an infection to pre-cancerous cells. So needless to say, with my luck with medical abnormalities, I'm a bit worried. Mom says they'll probably just do this scope take a biopsy and tell me to come back for another pap in 3-6 months. YUK! I really don't like the invasion of privacy we women go thru to check for cancer every year......Anyway, I'll try and keep you posted.

And well, when it rains it pours. And I'm not just talking about hurricane Ike hitting the Texas coast. On Friday, Wes called me and said that one of his lieutenants called him and told him that there was a position open at one of the air bases in the dessert for his job for a 120 day tour......which is about 4 months. And that if he volunteered to take it that he would have to report no later than the 28th of December.......So after some discussion, we decided that this base would be safer than waiting another month or so and possibly getting sent to Iraq or Afghanistan. And that 4 months is better than 6months. So Wes called back his lieutenant and submitted his name for deployment. This will be his second tour of duty before Zoey's 2nd birthday. He will probably miss Christmas, definitely New years, his birthday and the girls' birthdays. But I'm gonna try, try, try my hardest to see this as a blessing, and to think of the good things instead of the bad.

And as I ask you to pray for me and my family for the things I've earnestly told you. I know that God doesn't give us things that we can't handle......and I seem to say it alot, I think mainly to remind myself of it. So I'm gonna try and give God control.......haha what am I saying.....He is already in control really, I guess I need to give up the delusion that I'm in control. And just TRUST HIM..............

Remember when......

Well today is September 11th. It has been seven years since the attack on the twin towers in New York City. But last night was the first time that I watched something on tv about the whole thing being a conspiracy by the government to destroy those two buildings. And I think to myself........WHAT CRAP! I can't possibly believe that the land that I live in, the one my husband serves in the military for, and the place where so many people risk their lives to live in can be so cruel and thoughtless. But I am not naive....I know the government doesn't tell us everything and keeps its own secrets from us, the people, "for our own good." But I can not and will not even toy with the idea that our government planned and implemented such a life-costing way to demolish some buildings and cause a war "to make millions of dollars." I don't consider myself any kind of political and half the time couldn't tell you who the vice president is, but the people who thrive on conspiracies and look for the evil in every situation, can not be any kind of patriotic and have to have these ideas placed in their heads by satan. As you can tell this tv show bothered me very much. I guess I'm a little touchy when it comes to issues about the war in Iraq. I don't want to believe that my husband, the father of my children, and the love of my life, risks his life when he is deployed so that he can be a puppet in the government's schemes to make money. Its just crap!

Anyway, as I think to that day seven years ago, I remember feeling fear for those that I loved and extreme sympathy for those that I had never even met. I was afraid because my parents were in Colorado.......so many miles from where I could know that they were safe. I didn't know if a plane would crash where they were or some other kind of disaster.....I just didnt know. Then my heart ached more as I watch the first building fall, then the second, and I wondered what else was gonna happen. Fear. Worry. Questions. Then after the news came in that it was terrorists I was angry....confused.....scared.

Our world is no where near terror free, but I'm thankful that I have a God who tells me I don't have to be afraid. It says it in the Bible over 300 times. And if God said it that many times, then I should probably listen. Everything is not in my control, but His. If He can create life where there was nothing, then He can destroy the evil that invades our world.

hope you dont catch it.....

Well with the changing of the weather from blasting heat to the light airy days of fall comes the changes to the body......and the not so welcome colds. The achy bodies and coughing and constantly running noses.....grouchy attitudes and extreme tiredness......YUK! Our household is experiencing all of it. And it's seems to be harder to deal with as an adult when your babies are feeling the same yuckiness that you feel. But thank God, and I really mean it, thank you God for my husband, for his understanding and willingness to pick up the slack of my "job".....you know, cooking and picking up after the girls when I just dont have the strength for it. I think that God is teaching us both a lesson......for me, I'm learning that I don't have to have it all done, that the world isn't gonna fall apart if there are dishes in the sink or toys all over the living room. And him, I think he is learning a little more of how much I do around the house, and is wanting to help out some. But I'm sure before long (like when I'm feeling better) things will go back to normal.......But I like normal, the safety and security of it, the feeling that everything is as it should be. I'm thankful that I'm not the type of person that thrives on drama, who likes things shaken up and tense. I would probably need to be locked up in a nut hut (no offense to anyone who has been, sometimes its needed) But I guess it takes all kinds of personalities to make the world go around. Cause it would be major boring if everyone was like me, and incredibly chaotic if everyone wanted drama.

Anyway, I hope this fall and winter season you find yourself healthy and not a the "flu bug's" mercy. haha. But if you do seem to catch with both hands the fever and aches and coughs and so on that undoubtedly goes around every year.....I pray that God heals you quickly and that you see the beauty in the things that aren't necessarily beautiful............

Say Cheese!

These pictures I took today while the girls played at the "Imagination Station", which is a pretty cool play place down the road from our house. The girls just love being outside and playing as you can tell from these pics......

These next 3 pictures I took while me and the girls were waiting to get the tire fixed on the jeep. We thought we were gonna have to pay for a whole new tire (cause thats what the people at Wal-mart told us) But the guy that fixed the tire said that it was a mesquite thorn and he fixed them all the time, so instead of a $130 tire, it only cost us $10 for a patch. Thank God Almighty!

Well, I've learned that I'm one of those nerotic moms you see at the play ground telling other kids (not just hers) to slow down, or stop hitting, or whatever. We were at McDonald's the other evening and the girls were playing at the play place and there were alot of kids from Zoey's age to about 11 years old........Anyway, I also learned how stressful my girls teenage years are going to be. I went to "find" them in the play gym and they were sitting in the bottom of the slide. Zoey was hitting a little boy in the head. So I said "Zoey stop hitting that little boy." The I looked at Emari and she was kissing him. So I immediately told her to "stop kissing boys". UGGGGHHHH!

And this picture was taken to frame and hang so that when the girls start dating and bringing boys home, they will know what they are getting into. HAHA! Daddy and Uncle Ross with a gun, what has the world come to!

Angel children

Isn't this an awsome picture. I saw it in a forwarded email and downloaded it to my computer so that I could share it with you. Seeing it brings many thoughts to my mind.....mostly surrounding the grace and protection of God.

As the storms of life rage around us, as the wind pushes obstacles in our way, and as the thunder booms so loud in our ears that we have trouble listening to the ever-present voice of God.........He always sends something beautiful to remind us that He is still in control.

The road to destruction is always the most enticing, and the one that seems the easiest to follow. But the way to Heaven is narrow and steep and at times a whole lot scarry, but the reward waiting at the end is more than worth the trip......

And I have come to believe that God's angels are the souls of the children that we only got to keep for a little while. All the miscarriages, and still borns and infants lost to us during their sleep, are the precious beings that love and protect us at all the uncertain times of our lives. He needs unselfish and unblemished souls to help carry His love to us here on earth.
