Surrounded by fire

I was thinking earlier about everything that has happened lately with the fires, and the deaths, and the unexpected meeting I had......well it makes me worry a little. Its like there is a blazing fire burning around the circle of people I love most dearly. Its not burning us but we can feel the heat. And even though those who are effected the most by it are not inside my circle, they are still connected and I can feel their pain from the burning of that fire. But I can't let go of the loved ones inside my circle to grab them and pull them in or one of my loved ones might get overwhelmed by the fire and then the pain would consume me too. I guess I'm just not good at watching or knowing when someone else is hurting. But even in the midst of all of this I can still feel God. And I hope that is not just because I'm not the one burning. So what can I do but pray for short lived pain for all of those hurting?
And how do you tell your child something very very painful that will definately scar them for their whole lives? Or how to you begin to help them understand, when you don't even understand it yourself? I would take on the whole world's pain so that my children would never have to feel one once of it. But I'm not that powerful. I am only a weak and dependent child myself. And I have to remember, that my Jesus already took on all of the pain of the world himself, and I don't need to suffer and neither do my children. We can rest in him.
Dear Lord God, please be with your children who are hurting and confused because of the pain our decisions sometimes cause. Please hold them tight and remind them that You love them, especially in the midst of their pain. And please don't let the anger they feel be turned in the wrong direction. I know everything happens for a reason, Your reasons, Your plans. Please help us to be at peace with the things we can't see and don't understand. Thank you Jesus, for taking all of the pain unto yourself the day you were tortured and beaten and murdered all for me. I will be eternally greatful. Forgive me for all of the pain I have caused.
